Does Cornwell Make Their Own Tools? Quality Tool Distributors

If you work in the automotive and heavy-duty truck repair industries and need exceptional craftsmanship for the tools you work with every day, you may be wondering, “Does Cornwell make their own tools?”

A variety of popular tools and equipment from Cornwell Tools—like ratchets and wrenches—are hand-made at our Mogadore manufacturing plant in Ohio.

As one of the longest-running mobile tool companies in the US with a wealth of expertise and outstanding customer service, we’ve been a leading manufacturer of quality tools and storage equipment for over a century.

Our legacy of high-quality craftsmanship and manufacturing of tools and equipment has helped us support our mobile dealerships over time. Now, you too can learn how to distribute our specialized products by taking advantage of our tool franchise opportunities.

Cornwell’s Century-Long Tool-Making Legacy

Cornwell Tools started crafting premium tools and equipment when Eugene Cornwell, a prominent blacksmith and toolmaker, founded the company in Cuyahoga Falls, OH, in 1919.

As demand for tools grew through the region, we moved to a larger manufacturing site in Mogadore, OH, in 1927. Since then, we’ve produced high-quality hand-forged tools, such as ratchets, sockets, and wrenches, to name a few.

By maintaining qualitative control over our production process, Cornwell’s manufacturing process is as innovative as it’s enduring. We utilize state-of-the-art machinery, including specialized heat treating techniques, semi-automated welding machines, as well as CNC metal forming apparatus. Our premium alloy steel tools and equipment meet the high-performance standards required by professionals in the automotive industry while also standing the test of time.

The Role of Mobile Tool Truck Companies in Cornwell’s Success

We wouldn’t be a roaring success today without our mobile tool truck companies. They play a critical role in Cornwell’s nationwide distribution at more than 750 Franchise Owners across the US.

Our unique franchising opportunity allows mobile dealers to travel directly to their customer base along their designated routes, regularly assisting with new purchases or repairs for our tools and equipment.

Our customers (especially those in the auto repair industry) get immediate product availability and dealer support, offering them a personalized, convenient, and efficient shopping experience. Receiving consistent visits from our dealers gives customers quick access to the latest tools and equipment, ensuring they can perform their jobs as effectively as possible.

It’s no wonder that professionals in the automotive and heavy-duty truck repair industries prefer Cornwell’s tools and equipment over our competitors.

How to Become One of Cornwell’s Successful Tool Distributors

You can become a Cornwell tool distributor in six simple steps:

  1. Fill out your Information Form: Start by filling out a ‘Request More Information’ form, and a Franchise Manager (FM) will contact you shortly.
  2. Connect with a Franchise Manager: Our FM will ask you questions about your business goals and your preferred dealership territory. You’ll also receive a copy of our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), which will give you more details about our business model and investment opportunities.
  3. Meet More Cornwell Personnel: Once you’re done reading our FDD, you’ll speak to the District Sales Manager in charge of the area in which you want to operate your mobile dealership. From there, an FM or DM will take you through the remainder of your application process.
  4. Start your Dealer Training via Zoom: If you become a successful franchisee, you’ll start your Cornwell dealer training via Zoom. This will help you gradually learn the ins and outs of how to operate your mobile tool dealership as effectively as possible.
  5. Continue On-the-Job Territory Training: You’ll work closely with your designated DM during the first two weeks of operations. They’ll give you training and support to help you get set up for your new dealership route.
  6. Receive Ongoing Dealer Training and Support: You’ll hit the road while receiving ongoing training and support from us on the latest products and promotions you can offer your customers.

Unlike a traditional “brick and mortar” dealership that relies on commercial real estate, you’ll save immensely on your initial franchising costs. This will help you save more money for the future to support your operations in unforeseen circumstances. Moreover, you’ll enjoy flexibility when operating your own mobile dealership while still receiving ongoing support and resources from your DM.
